TNG-CWA Human Rights and Equity Committee

Telephone conference call at Twelve-Noon pm (12:00) Eastern; 09:00 Pacific

Richard Peery announced his retirement and named Natalie Hill (Great Lakes Region) as the new Great Lakes committee member. 

Carl Younger proposed a two-phase plan to establish a reference/resource library at the local level, and to research and to further minority involvement in guild leadership. Discussion ensued.  Results of research are expected to be available at our next scheduled conference call.  

 Various other topics where discussed including:

·         Global Investigative Journalist Conference – Toronto (2007)

·         Accurate representation of minority status regarding guild membership and officers.

·         A $400.00 sponsorship to various minority conferences.

·         The communication of benefits of guild membership.

Committee members adjourned and agreed to another conference call on October 14th, with a possible postponement to October 21st.
