MINUTES PREPARED BY Carl Younger.  Called to order at 1:00 pm eastern time.

It has so far been confirmed that Carl Younger, Vernon Clark and Sheila Lindsay will attend the Multi council meeting. More may decide pending the availability of funding. Melissa informed us that more information on committee funding for the Cleveland Multi council meeting April 30 to May 2nd would be available after Carol meets with the district councils.

It was discussed that the topic of our workshop could be Recreating a Labor Movement Through Inclusion and how diversity and inclusion can dramatically improve relationships with the communities’ unions serve.

Sheila agreed with the concept as it opens up a discussion to a wider group of members.

It was further discussed that unions can no longer afford exclusivity as we need all of labor’s participation regardless of race, creed, color or sexual orientation if the union movement is to become viable again.

Arnold and Yoko warned about wording any presentation that would exclude any of our members or make them less likely to identify with the issues involved.

Melissa said there may be the potential for an Equity link to a later presentation planned for the Multi council meeting by Robert McChesney and John Nichols.

It was decided to schedule our next meeting for Saturday March 13th 1pm Eastern time. The meeting adjourned at 2pm
